Hi!
Why insurance with one depentend for international graduate students is so expensive?
Students pay only $2180 for themselves, but with spouse - $6907!
According to http://www.grads.vt.edu/igss/application_prearrival/financial_reqs.html "An additional $4,000 will be added for accompanying spouses".
But it is even less then $6907 - $2180 = $4727! What is about other expenses?
May be i don't understand smth correctly?

There were 2150 international students at Virginia Tech in 2007. They represent 112 countries. 1724 are Graduate students and 427 are undergraduates. You can see how many students are from specific countries by going to Cranell Center/ fast facts on www.international.vt.edu

No- you must go outside the door to smoke. All buildings on our campus are smoke-free

International students should not register for Orientation held in July. International student Orientation is held in August. This Orientation is important to adjust to the social and academic demands of being a student at Virginia Tech. The orientation schedule will be published on the website: www.international.vt.edu

The legal drinking age in the United States is 21 years old. It is illegal to purchase, serve, or drink alcohol if you have not reached your 21st birthday.
There are many local restaurants that are gathering places for students each evening. Many of these restaurants have music and serve food and drink. There are also many activities on-campus for students with many different types of interest.
